Grove's Iverson, Jeffries take first at Miami track meet

GROVE'S IVERSON, JEFFRIES TAKE FIRST AT MIAMI TRACK MEET

Emilee Iverson won the high jump and Lily Jeffries was first in the pole vault as Grove finished seventh in the large school girls' division at the Wardog Relays track meet in Miami on Thursday, April 17.

Iverson cleared 5-4, winning the event by 4 inches. However, that is off her season-best effort of 5-8 during a meet at Pittsburg (Kan.) State University.

Iverson also was sixth in the 400 with a time of 67.11 seconds.

Jeffries also was an easy winner in the pole vault by clearing 10-0. The second-place effort was 9-0.

Keely McLaughlin was second in the shot put with a throw of 36-6 ½.

Lacey Records placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 106 ½.

The Lady Ridgerunner 4x800-meter relay team - Kelsea Gorham, Sierra Hernandez, Michaela Werner and Josie Eubanks – was fifth at 10:54.90.

Grove finished with 45 points. Vinita rolled to the team title with 154.5 points. Glenpool wound up second with 103 points and Tulsa Lincoln Christian was third with 89.

Jay finished three points ahead of the Lady Ridgerunners.
