Grove senior Michaela Werner made it three wins in three tries this season when she captured first place in the Bishop Kelley Invitational held at Oral Roberts University on Saturday.
Werner finished the two-mile run in a season best 12:04.65, nearly four seconds ahead of Cheyenne Walden of Sand Springs and the rest of the field of 203 runners.
The Ridgerunners finished 20th out of 28 boys team, led by Derek Pigsley’s 23rd place individual finish. The senior ran the 5K course in 18:15.44.
Other runners for Grove were Deacon Kraft (89th), Jake Ingle (100th), Brendon Hankinson (155th), Gideon Carper (179th) and Brandon Williams (199th).
Grove cross-country will compete again on Friday at the Tulsa Washington High School Invitational at O’Brien Park
