Both Grove tennis teams captured the team titles at the Grove Invitational Tennis Tournament on Thursday.
The Lady Ridgerunners captured all four divisions in winning their team title. In number one singles Kenadie Wakeland did not drop set in her three matches, while the doubles teams of Madie Correa and Taylor Vasquez, along with Tori Lee and Kenadie Roach, also did not drop a set.
The only drama for the Grove girls came in number two singles, where Ashley Hampton won a tiebreaker 10-6 over Sperry in her championship match.
The Ridgerunners’ number two doubles team of Clayton Honeycutt and Chase Morris also needed a tiebreaker in their final match, downing Pryor 10-2 to capture first.
Grove’s number one doubles team of Levi Kerr and Garrett Hadley had no drama whatsoever, as they won all three of their matches without dropping a single on their way to the title.
In singles Michael Lippitt captured third in number one singles, while Slade Botts finished second in number two singles.
