Malik Signs With Kentucky It was a quiet but extremely historic day for the Boys Basketball Program on November 18th, 2015. On this afternoon in front of a small gathering of people in the East Gym, Malik Monk signed his letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Kentucky. As the ink dried, Malik became only the 2nd player in Bentonville Basketball history to sign with a NCAA DI school and the first from this school to be a part of Kentuckys #1 Recruiting Class in the nation. Saturday November 28 Bentonville vs. Mustang, OK Game Recap W: 84-79 It was an electric atmosphere for the Tigers’ season opener at home against the defending 6A Oklahoma State Champions from Mustang. With the house packed, the Tigers put on a show jumping out to an early lead and at one point going up by 12 in the 3rd Quarter. Mustang would chip away for the next 8 minutes of game clock to cut the lead to 3 with a minute left in the game. The Tigers however would rely on some critical defensive stops and clutch free-throws down the stretch to put the game away for good and start this incredibly promising season off with a bang.
