In close contests on Tuesday evening, October 6, the JV volleyball squad beat the Elizabeth Seton Roadrunners in two straight sets to win their match with scores of 25-19 for each set. While the Cardinals had the edge for the first set, the Roadrunners built a significant lead with able serving and well-positioned hits in the second set. The JV Cardinal squad dug in and rallied back to win the set and match. Leading in sets to assist for points were Jackie Bewick, with 7; Sophia Krikorian, with 3; and Casey Hoffman, with 2. Kills leading to scores were played by Grace McCaffery, with 4; Kat Conway, Sophia Krikorian, and Margaret Virostek, each with 3; and Katie Becht, Jackie Bewick, and Sabrina Zakhem, each with 1. Aces were served by Annamaria Costanzo, with 3; Katie Becht, Jackie Bewick, and Casey Hoffman, each with 2; and Sophia Krikorian, Margaret Virostek, and Sabrina Zakhem, each with 1. Net play with impressive blocks were scored by Georgie Anderson and Cate McGlynn, both with 2.
